RUNNERS / BNBYuri: one idol, several contracts and a refusal
A digital singer recognised in Beijing becomes a memecoin subject on BNB. Traders propose fees for her creator, but her team denies authorising any token. 尤栗’s story turns on the gap between offered support and consent.

At 05:13, the team says no
On the morning of October 12, Hanqing’s account, @hq4ai, pins a statement leaving little room for ambiguity: Yuri and her team have never launched, endorsed or authorised a token. The statement condemns unauthorised commercial use of the name and image and reserves the possibility of action to defend their rights. It follows the reported market-cap peak of the contract discussed here. It needs to be read before the memecoin is confused with the digital singer. [2]
A few hours earlier, a trader had promised something intended to distinguish his launch from taking an image without giving anything back: he said its fees would go to Yuri’s creator. That gap is where the story unfolds. Participants offer a form of funding; the artistic team rejects turning that proposal into an official connection. [8]
The token banner nevertheless retains the portrait’s confidence: a wink, a turquoise streak, a hand across a smile and a skull-shaped ring. It is an immediately recognisable image, one that says nothing about the consent of the people who created it. [1]
Before BNB, a song and its listeners
Yuri did not originate in traders’ feeds. On June 3, 2025, HQ publishes the “SURREAL” music video on Instagram under the AI.TALK name. The caption describes a video made with several AI tools, emphasising advances in camera movement, consistency and body dynamics. The character therefore arrives with a work and a production process, rather than simply a face available for a ticker. [3]
Comments under that post offer another measure of its reception. Some ask for Spotify or iTunes availability; others look forward to the next song. These are neither holder counts nor price promises. They are listeners’ expectations, recalling what the crypto discussion tends to compress: a relationship with a character beginning through music. [3]
Institutional recognition adds to that history. Beijing’s city website reports that Yuri received a virtual-idol identity certification on January 31, 2026 from the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area. It connects the character to Hanqing Studio and mentions virtual-assistant and public-communication projects. The document concerns the idol; it does not mention the BNB contract. [4]
The identity card’s meaning expands as it travels
On October 9, Massimo, @Rainmaker1973, brings this digital identity back into circulation. His post extends the subject to digital humans and discusses bank accounts, contracts and digital-currency wallets. That vocabulary makes the character particularly interesting to crypto readers: it appears to bridge a virtual presence and economic activity. These claims belong to the post. [5]
Replying on October 10, Hanqing introduces himself as Yuri’s creator and narrows the description. He presents a musician built through songs, performances and interactions, then specifies that her identity belongs to a Beijing pilot for digital idols, rather than human legal personhood. He also thanks Massimo in another post. The amplification and its qualification therefore sit in the same conversation. [6] [7]
That detail changes how the narrative should be read. Certification gives Yuri a public history preceding the token; it does not give traders authorisation to create an official asset for her. The most attractive connection — a recognised digital artist followed by an economy around her — skips precisely the stage where her team accepts or declines participation. [2] [6]
Fees proposed, a recipient still unverified
At 20:13 on October 11, fullmetalcrypto.eth, @alchemistcalls, says he launched Yuri on BNB Chain through WIRED and arranged fees for its creator. He publishes 0xeeb8f37f7343989870073f589b9016111c307777. That connects his statement to this specific token; it does not establish that Hanqing accepted the proposal or received the funds. [8]
WIRED describes a system in which the person launching a token designates a social account as a fee recipient. Claiming through that account requires verification and a wallet connection. In the October 12 snapshot, its explorer lists this Yuri contract, @hq4ai as the destination and a status awaiting recipient verification. It displays 42.541 BNB to claim. That is a value shown by the platform, not an observed payment to the creator. [9] [10]
The distinction matters: selecting an artist’s account as a destination is not the same as asking for their agreement. A participant may frame the mechanism as support; the team’s denial shows why that support must not be described as a collaboration. [2] [8] [9]
The refusal leaves traders arguing among themselves
At 00:43 on October 12, Jack addresses @hq4ai with another proposal for a token and fees. His message lists two addresses, this contract and another beginning 0x34e5. A minute later, onchain slave replies that the first token already provides fees for the creator and accuses the competing proposal of fragmenting the contest between traders. He repeats the contract ending c307777. A promise to support the artist also becomes an argument for choosing between tokens. [11] [12]
Responses after the denial continue to defend different readings. Criss describes the token as a community meme; Xviper suggests that fees could help spread Yuri’s work. These are their interpretations. They neither undo the team’s refusal nor establish permission to use the name or image. [2] [14] [15]
At 06:08, fullmetalcrypto.eth asks WIRED a concrete question. He repeats the contract, acknowledges that the creator has not claimed the fees and mentions the denial. He asks whether unclaimed funds can be returned to the deployer and which policy applies. The thread reviewed shows no platform response to that request, so a refund, expiry or destruction cannot be presented as an established outcome. [13]
Yuri reveals a boundary absent from her portrait. A character can already have works, listeners and public recognition while remaining outside an economy traders build around her. In this story, the decisive intervention belongs to the artistic team: it takes back control of the word “official”, while holders and the launcher are left with their contracts and the question of fees.
