At 19:35, someone says goodnight

The post ends with a goodnight. On X, @bscsolanaethbtc says they achieved a threefold return, kept a small 100-USDT position and might come back the following day if an opportunity appears. They include the crab’s contract. Just below, their own earlier post tells a different story: impatience at seeing this Claude-related token struggle to cross a million-dollar valuation while comparing OpenClaw’s lobster with a much larger market cap. That change in tone offers a way into September 22. Before the sweeping arguments about artificial intelligence, there is a participant waiting, doubting, then describing a gain and stepping away from the screen. The result remains a personal claim, not a verified wallet statement. At 20:44 Paris time, the peak reported to Trenches On will reach $2.14 million in market capitalisation for 螃蟹, the “crab”, on BNB Chain.

A small orange body that already had a name

The token’s logo shows a coral-orange creature, almost square, with rounded corners. Two inward-facing black chevrons form its eyes; four little legs protrude underneath and two arms frame its sides. It looks more like a desktop companion than an animal at a fish market. That simplicity makes it recognisable as a thumbnail without needing to read the two Chinese characters. [8]

The connection with Claude is not merely a trader invention. In a September 2025 announcement, Thariq, @trq212, presents several Claude Code updates and a new mascot called Clawd, accompanied by a crab emoji. The character therefore has a history within the programming tool’s world that predates this token. That establishes the reference’s origin, rather than Anthropic’s participation in launching the memecoin. [2]

On September 22 at 17:02 Paris time, Oak, @Dipansh36459823, recirculates the association: OpenClaw is presented as the AI world’s lobster, Claude as its crab. He links to a Douyin search to illustrate the usage. We treat the post as an instance of that connection being shared; a search link alone cannot measure how widely it has spread on Douyin. [3]

From lobster to crab, a place to claim

At 17:48, Jerry, @0xJerrrry, quotes Oak and adds the exact contract. His account, labelled as a parody account, combines attention around Anthropic with a feeling that after the lobster, the crab deserves a place too. The animals make the argument instantly memorable. They turn a competition between AI tools into something that can be pictured at a table or market stall. [4]

The same device appears in a post by 0хSadcat, who shares Jerry’s message with the same address and compares the crab’s potential with the lobster’s. These participants are not demonstrating equivalence between two businesses or tokens. They borrow a precedent familiar to their audience to give their expectation a shape: if one attracted attention, why not the other? [9]

The Chinese name opens another door. In the 19:35 goodnight post, the participant points out that crab season has returned. Later, 阿Q explicitly links the Mid-Autumn Festival, eating crab and AI. That calendar belongs to the story these accounts are telling. It brings an international technology reference together with an everyday image their readers can recognise. [1] [10]

What He Yi’s posts actually say

Jerry also advances a more ambitious hypothesis: statements by CZ and He Yi lead him to imagine a Binance role in a future Anthropic IPO. That is his interpretation. To understand what feeds it, the He Yi publications reviewed provide two more specific reference points. [4]

On September 9, she discusses the potential size of an Anthropic IPO and points to ANTHROPICUSDT to observe market expectations. On September 20, she shares Binance Wallet’s announcement of Pre-Access campaigns hosted by PancakeSwap. Neither of those posts mentions the crab’s contract or explicitly endorses it. [5] [6]

Binance’s published FAQ describes Pre-Access as a mechanism that may provide indirect economic exposure to a private company through third-party products. It states that Binance Wallet supplies technical access and that these tokens do not represent direct share ownership. The documentation explains the conversation’s context; it does not connect 螃蟹 to a campaign or confirm Jerry’s prediction. [7]

A company name inside the trading pair

The Anthropic association does appear in the market listing. For this BNB Chain address, DEX Screener records a PancakeSwap v2 pair connecting 螃蟹 with an asset named Anthropic, symbol oANTHROPIC. The snapshot also includes a USDT pair and a Flap entry. Counterpart asset names are listing information, rather than verification of their legal status or issuer. [8]

That visual proximity can shorten a reader’s reasoning: seeing the crab and Anthropic on the same line makes the story appear coherent. Buying the memecoin, however, is not buying Anthropic. No source reviewed establishes rights in that company for holders of the crab. What is documented here is an association in a trading pair and in participants’ posts.

Another detail makes the address important. The website linked from the DEX listing opens a page about $ape on Solana, with a different contract and information described as placeholders. We consequently do not treat it as the crab’s official website. This mismatch does not explain the token’s origin on its own; it shows why a listing and a logo are insufficient to identify a team. In the feed, everyone is waiting for someone else

The posts reviewed then add their own perspectives. CryptoJoJo describes an Anthropic sector, says he is holding around an $800,000 market cap and hopes for overnight interest from foreign Fomo users. Meconic cites a Fomo holder count and projects a sharp increase by the following day. Those figures and expectations belong to their posts; they are not an on-chain count validated by the editorial team. [11] [12]

The gesture captures this stage: participants are no longer simply looking for an explanation of the crab, but for someone who might look at the same thing they are watching. The conversation consequently takes on several accents. Some discuss a mascot, others a season, an IPO or a community that might arrive after them. These are different ways of making the token easy to talk about. They also allow readers who follow different accounts to gather around the same small orange character.

$2.14 million, and a story still being written

The ATH retained is the one supplied to the editorial team: $2.14 million in market capitalisation on September 22, 2026, at 20:44 Paris time. It has not been independently verified to the minute. The contract studied is the one displayed in this article; neither the Clawd mascot nor the word “crab” identifies a unique asset by itself.

The moment mainly captures a meeting: a character from developer culture becomes familiar to traders who add their comparisons, habits and expectations. The goodnight post preserves something of that human scale. Behind the peak remain people deciding whether to stay, leave or return—and a crab whose next chapter they are still trying to write.
